The journey of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said (may Allah bless his soul) who passed away on January 10, 2020, leaving behind a legacy of achievements at the local, regional and global level, will be remembered, said Hamoud bin Mohammed al Azri, general supervisor of Oman Qaboos website.
The Oman Qaboos website profiles the life of Late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said and the achievements of this great personality.
“His Majesty Sultan Qaboos led a comprehensive renaissance in the last 50 years which were full of challenges, starting from July 1970 till January 2020 when the world lost a man of dialogue, wisdom and peace,” Azri said.
Oman has enjoyed an enviable position at the global stage during His Majesty Sultan Qaboos’ rule as he was a friend to everyone.
Oman Qaboos is a comprehensive website providing information to visitors and researchers.
It highlights the history, achievements and the life of Late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, his foreign policy legacy especially in the league of Arab states, the Gulf Cooperation Council and in the settlement of regional issues.
Since its launch 12 years ago, the website has received praise from foreign leaders and senior officials at the local and global level.
Azri said the website is known for providing accurate information, in addition to the translation that passes through different stages including reviews from embassies before being published.
“This has enabled the website to win several local, regional and global awards.” Azri said that the journey of wisdom and peace that was led by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos deserves to be remembered as an example for the coming generations.
“The aim was to make the website a comprehensive reference point for information on the life of this great leader, his achievements and support for the Arab and Islamic world, and the regional, Arab and global issues in 50 languages.”
Azri said there is cooperation in the translation process under the supervision of the ambassadors and diplomats with the accredited embassies in the sultanate to translate the content in another 15 languages to reach the 50 mark.
