MoAF fights locusts in three governorates

The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (MoAF) is making great efforts to control the spread of desert locusts in the country as well as reduce the damage to crops.  

It has started pesticide spraying operations to control the spread of locusts in South Batinah, Dakhliyah and Muscat governorates. 

An official in the ministry said that the situation is under control and operations are being conducted in the villages of the wilayats of Bidbid in Dakhliyah, Barka in South Batinah and Seeb in Muscat. 

The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries urges bee and livestock keepers to be cautious and avoid transporting cattle and bees during the period of operations.  

MoAF is making efforts to reduce reproduction of locusts and reduce damage to agricultural crops.
