Omani honoured for fellowship in respiratory care

As part of the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) Congress held in New Orleans, US, the association has selected Khalsa bint Mohammed al Siyabi, head of Respiratory Care Department in the Directorate General of Specialised Medical Care, Ministry of Health, as one of the best international fellows in the field of respiratory care for 2019.

 

Khalsa is the first Omani specialised in the field of respiratory care and one of the founders of the Respiratory Care Department in the Ministry of Health.

 

Through the fellowship programme, Khalsa worked at a number of American hospitals and learnt about the latest developments in respiratory care.

 

In addition, she visited a number of colleges of respiratory care and medical simulation departments, besides presenting lectures, reviewing the sultanate’s experience in the field of respiratory care.

 

After Khalsa completed her fellowship programme, AARC honoured her as one of the best three international fellows in the field of respiratory care.
