Wadi al Ma’awel records 53mm rain

Wadi al Ma’awel in South Batinah governorate recorded the highest rain in Oman from December 19 to 21, the Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources (MRMWR) has said. 

 

Muscat

 

The measurement stations of MRMWR registered 53mm rain in Wadi al Ma’awel, 35mm in Muttrah, 35mm in Muscat, 31mm in Samail, 27mm in Amerat, 27mm in Bidbid, 25mm in Al Awabi, 23mm in Nakhal, 12mm in Rustaq and 12mm in Seeb.  

 

Clean-up operations  

Several teams of MRMWR are engaged in clean-up operations in wilayats such as Samail, Barka and Wadi al Ma’awel. 

 

Chances of rain 

The Public Authority for Civil Aviation said on Sunday that clouds are hovering over parts of Dhofar and Al Wusta governorates with chances of rain near the coasts of Arabian Sea. There are also formation of low-level clouds in areas near the coasts of the Sea of Oman.
