Melbourne, Australia – Oman on Sunday participated in the ministerial conference on ‘No Money for Terrorism’.
The delegation was led by Dr Hamoud bin Amer al Wardi, Oman’s Consul General in Australia. During the conference, participants agreed on the need for regional and international cooperation in combating financing of terrorism. They also agreed to tighten security measures across sectors to combat the menace.
The conference discussed the evolution of terrorist threats in the Pacific and Indian Ocean regions, trends and methods to combat financing of terrorism.
The conference was attended by over 65 delegates, 23 ministers and representatives of 15 international bodies, including the United Nations and the Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering.
