The Royal Oman Police (ROP) is urging motorists, especially youth, to follow guidelines while participating in vehicle parades to celebrate the 49th National Day of the sultanate.
“There are strict rules for motorists to follow when they are taking part in vehicle parades as their unruly actions can lead to unfortunate incidents,” an ROP official told Muscat Daily. He said fines, imprisonment, confiscation of vehicles and the possibility of being sent to Public Prosecution, are the penalties that await motorists who do not follow set guidelines.
“Motorists are not allowed to drift or block roads. They should park in designated spots only. The rules aim to ensure that everyone can enjoy the occasion in a safe manner, providing safety to other motorists and pedestrians.”
