Karate prodigy Hisham Mohamed al Busaidy has done it again – this time annexing a gold medal at the International Banzai Cup Berlin 2019 championship in Germany.
The 11 year old yet again dazzled beating a German competitor in the final of the Under-12 kata category. Some 1,400 competitors took part in the championship. Hisham had the better of his opponent in a four-round bout to lay his hands on the gold medal.
Hisham was denied of more glory as competition rules following strict World Karate Federation rules under new Olympic regulations and rules, prevented him from competing in more than one category.
Before the Berlin championship, Hisham had won the World Championship in June 2018 and pocketed 15 international gold, silver and bronze medals in kata and kumite events at championships held in Scotland, Romania, Luxembourg, Hamburg, Turkey, the UAE, Stuttgart, Czech Republic and Finland.
