Omanis are eligible for e-visas to enter Russia through air, naval and border checkpoints located in the territory of St Petersburg and the Leningrad region starting October 1. The e-visa will be issued free of charge.
Oman’s embassy in Moscow tweeted, ‘Starting October 1, 2019, the citizens of 53 states, including the Sultanate of Oman, may apply for an e-visa to enter Russia through air, naval, automobile, and pedestrian checkpoints located in the territory of St Petersburg and the Leningrad region.’
According to the consular department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, the entry and exit on an e-visa by means of rail transport is currently unavailable. ‘You do not need to pay for anything to obtain an e-visa,’ the ministry said.
‘An e-visa is issued within four calendar days, including week-ends and bank holidays. There is no need for any invitations or confirmations. Just fill in the application form on the website. There is no need to waste your free time or working hours to visit the consular agency during its business hours. The website works 24×7,’ the consular department stated.
All the GCC countries except UAE are eligible for the e-visa, including countries like Iran, India, Indonesia, China and Singapore among others. The visa can be availed at http://electronic-visa.kdmid.ru/spb_home_en.html
