The diploma course comes in the light of the OOC’s plans aimed at upgrading the level of Omani cadres working in the field of sports organization and administration. OOC has ambitious plans intended to contribute to the creating Omani high standard expertise in the management of facilities and sports events as well as to promoting the concepts of distinguished performance and effective management.
The course will be attended by 25 Omani cadres involved in the management of sports organizations who are basically employees of the Ministry of Sports Affairs, Oman Olympic Committee and sports associations. It consists of six scientific modules specifically dealing with sports management conducted over a period of ten training days, i.e. fifty training hours. At the end of the course, the participants will receive a professional diploma that is certified by the Training Research Center of the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM).
Supervised by specialized consultants and instructors, the programme of study includes several important stages of sports management, including but not limited to methods of sports planning, sports governance and its rules, leadership of sports organizations, concepts of communication, human resources management, quality, operational mechanism of Olympic committees and Olympic cultural legacy.
Oman Olympic Committee this year organized a number of courses on sports management in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate (Wilayat Sur) and North Al Batinah (Wilayat Sohar) in order to provide an opportunity for sports management cadres in various governorates of the Sultanate to benefit from such international high-level courses.
