Oman Cement Company (OCC) took a narrow lead over second-placed Al Bashaer Tours & Travels (BTT) in the standings after beating ORPIC 98-69 in a sixth-week game of the fourth Oman Chamber of Commerce & Industry-Companies Basketball Championship (OCCI-CBC) at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex recently.
OCC, which comprises players from Ahli-Sidab club, outplayed its opponent 30-9, 23-19, 29-20 and 16-21. In another match, Future Pipe Industries (FPI) defeated Moka & More 80-71 to climb to rise one place to fifth, leaving Shams al Tafani Trad Est (STTE) at the bottom on No 6. FPI needed to win the tiebreaker fifth period after the four regulation sessions resulted in a 63-63 tie. In regulation time, FPI posted scores of 12-11, 21-18, 15- 19, 10-15, taking the fifth period 17-8. Standings: 1 OCC (8 pts), 2 BTT (7), 3 ORPIC (6), 4 Moka & More (5), 5 FPI (4), 6 STTE (3).
