Team Oman, an initiative by the International Film Fraternity of Oman (IFFO) to groom those interested in pre and post-production of filmmaking, will begin auditions by June-end.
Team Oman will groom participants who will be chosen for scripting, acting, direction and editing by a panel of film experts The finalists will also be an integral part of Team Oman and will get an opportunity to showcase their talent in a feature film.
Sudha Sha, convener of IFFO said, “Team Oman commits to train talented and interested people, both Omanis and expatriates in the art of filmmaking. The selection will be on the basis of scripts and stories submitted by contestants.
Five people will be chosen to work on a script apart from the selection of actors and directors which will be based on a week-long workshop followed by an interview by the faculty.”
Sha hoped that the film will get screened at international festivals like Cannes and Tribecca. Team Oman plans to work on five scripts over a period of five years.
Experts like Resul Pookutty will oversee the development of the film. “Shooting of the film will begin by February 2013.”
