The second edition of The Home Show opened at the Oman International Exhibition Centre on Tuesday with H E Sultan bin Hamdoon al Harthy, chairman of Muscat Municipality, as the guest of honour.
The three-day exhibition, which concludes on Thursday, is showcasing products and services on home and corporate décor. The products include kitchen, bedroom and bathroom sets, walls and floor coverings, light fixtures and accessories, doors and windows, furnishings, paints, marble, home appliances and energy efficiency and smart home solutions.
Local and international brands are on display at the show, which is seeing good participation from Omani and Arab manufacturers and distributors. Several firms offering services like construction and contracting, home loans, interior designing and landscaping, among others, are also taking part in the show.
Zahran al Ruqeishi, corporate communication specialist at Muscat Electricity Distribution Company (MEDC), one of the exhibitors, said, “We have been helping buildings to develop energy efficient solutions and have also included thermo-insulation services. MEDC has conducted a study on hybrid air-conditioners, which concludes that using them can save up to 30 per cent electricity.”
A number of dignitaries from the public and private sectors also attended the inauguration ceremony.
