Ramadan work timings announced

Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal al Busaidi, Minister of Diwan of Royal Court and chairman of the Civil Service Council, on Sunday issued a decision stating that official working hours at ministries, public authorities and other government departments during Ramadan will be from 9am to 2pm. 

Working hours in the private sector for Muslims will be reduced to six hours per day and 30 hours a week, according to a decision issued by Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Abdullah al Bakri, Minister of Manpower. The moon-sighting for Ramadan will be announced by authorities later.

Renaissance Day: Holiday on July 23

Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal al Busaidi, Minister of Diwan of Royal Court and chairman of the Civil Service Council, has issued a decision declaring that July 23 will be an official holiday for ministries and government establishments on the occasion of the Blessed Renaissance Day. It will also be an official holiday for the private sector, according to a decision issued by Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Abdullah al Bakri, Minister of Manpower. Work will resume on July 24.
