Rains likely today, ROP issues safety warning

On Tuesday, heavy rainfall and strong winds were witnessed in Khasab. An area of low atmospheric pressure northwest of the Arabian Peninsula is likely to cause more rainfall in Oman, according to an ROP statement.

Citizens and residents are urged not to venture into flooded wadis and to stay away from places prone to flooding, the statement said.

Motorists are warned to drive slowly and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles, while fishermen and sailors are urged not to venture out to sea without checking the weather forecast, it added.
