The sultanate will receive rain starting from Tuesday and last for four days, according to the Directorate General of Meteorology’s National Multi Hazards and Early Warning Centre. “Muscat, Dhahirah, Buraimi, North and South Batinah, Dakhliyah, North and South Sharqiyah will be hit by rain and occasional thundershowers, associated with downdraft winds, hail and flash floods,” the meteorology department said in an advisory uploaded on its official Twitter handle.
The Met department has advised the public to remain cautious. “Dhofar and Al Wusta will also witness isolated showers. Sea state will be moderate to rough along the coastal areas of Musandam and the Sea of Oman with a maximum wave height of 2.5m to 3m,” the advisory added.
There are chances of moderate winds on Monday throughout the country, with dusty conditions in deserts and open areas.
