As many as 62 illegal immigrants and other offenders were arrested in separate raids on Monday morning.
Acting on a tip-off, the Police Command in Dhahirah governorate raided a number of places in A'Dereez, Ibri. Thirty-five illegal immigrants and foreign residency law offenders were arrested, in addition to three violators of the Telecommunication Regulatory Act.
The Police Command in Muscat governorate raided several places in Al Khuwayr, North Al Hail and Qurm, and arrested 24 people including 13 women for violating the labour and foreign residency laws.\
3 bootleggers arrested in Oman
A team from the Directorate of Inquiries and Criminal Investigations in North Batinah recently arrested three bootleggers.
They are accused of selling alcohol in Ruwailat A'Zaab in Saham. Acting on a tip-off, the police raided their hideout and arrested them. A large quantity of alcohol was also seized.
Course on financial accounting underway in Oman
A training programme on 'Financial accounting for non-accountants' began at the Public Prosecution premises in cooperation with the Shumool Centre for Training Services on Saturday. The programme is being held under the auspices of assistant attorney general Ahmed bin Abdullah al Mahrouqi.
Twenty-seven members of the administrative staff are participating in the programme, which will conclude on December 19.
