Panasonic recently launched an online shopping portal for its customers in Oman, a first-of-its-kind initiative by an electronics company in the country.
Customers can register and shop on the new website, eplus.panasonic.om. Purchased products would be delivered within 72 hours of ordering and carry a one year warranty.
Michael Hansen, managing director, Oman Marketing and Services Company (OMASCO), said, “With the launch of e-Plus website, Omani customers can now get immediate access to Panasonic products online. This adds to sales channels already in place across Oman to reach net-savvy customers. It's the first electronics online store in Oman and we have high hopes. OMASCO is proud to be associated with Panasonic and we hope this initiative leads to a chain of online services.”
According to Tanaka San, general manager of retail marketing in Middle East and Africa, Panasonic, 43 per cent of the shoppers in GCC prefer to buy online and 11 per cent of them buy products at least once a month.
“The online shopping trend is fast growing in Oman and we want to offer relevant sales channels across all markets for customers to choose from,” said Masao Motoki, managing director for marketing in Middle East and Africa, Panasonic. “The country has become one of the most important destinations in the region to attract foreign investment and there is a consistent rise in disposable income as well.”
Panasonic customers who register and shop on the website can earn points and redeem them on future purchases. The site is said to use a secure payment gateway to protect online payments.
