Oman takes part in Dubai food meet

The sultanate, represented by the Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources, is taking part in the 17th Dubai International Food Safety Conference, which is being hosted by Dubai, UAE.

The two-day conference is being organised under the theme ‘The future of food safety’.

The ministry is represented in the conference by Eng Haitham bin Khalfan al Akhzami, director of Food Control Department, Amer bin Ali al Habsi, health inspector of Food Control Department and Mahmoud bin Salim al Mahrouqi, health inspector at Nizwa Municipality.

Regional officials, experts, researchers and specialists are taking part in the conference to review regional and global practices in food inspection field and challenges facing food safety at the local and regional level.

The conference provides a convenient interactive environment in which research papers and proposals related to existing practices and experiences in the field of food safety are being discussed, as well as participants benefiting from each other’s experiences at different levels.
