OOC and its group of companies celebrate Earth Hour 2017

For the second consecutive time as part of corporate social responsibility, Oman Oil Company (OOC), the government’s investment arm in energy-related sectors, in cooperation with ten of its subsidiaries and affiliates, celebrated Earth Hour 2017 on March 25.

To make a bigger impact, OOC and the group’s head offices across the country took the initiative to switch off all non-essential lighting and appliances for an hour, from 8.30 to 9.30pm, in support of the World Wide Fund’s cause 'Change Climate Change'.

OOC and its group of companies are continuing their commitment to the planet, and aiming to remain sustainable by joining local and international institutions, highlighting Earth Hour 2017. Al Mutasim bin Said al Sariri, director of Corporate Affairs at OOC, said, “OOC and its group of companies are delighted to be part of such a global celebration. This is a step towards conserving our environment and tackling climate change. By joining such initiatives, we aim to create a culture that is mindful of its energy consumption and looks after all natural and sustainable resources.”

Oman Oil Company Exploration & Production (OOCEP), Oman Gas Company (OGC), Takamul Investment Company, Salalah Methanol Company (SMC), Takatuf Oman, Oman Tank Terminal Company (OTTCO), Duqm Refinery & Petrochemical Industries Company (Duqm Refinery), Central Utilities Company (Marafiq), Oman India Fertiliser Company (OMIFCO) and Vale Oman besides OOC have joined hands to support this important global event.
