It was held under the patronage of Oman's Ministry of Higher Education, Ministry of Manpower and Ministry of Education, EduTraC Oman to showcase education, training and employment opportunities across a range of different sectors. It has been a forum for students, graduates and job seekers to meet with recruiters, admission officers, career counselors and HR personnel for invaluable advice and guidance as they begin their professional lives.
Nasser al Hajri, CHRO, human resources and head of corporate affairs, National Bank of Oman, said, “National Bank of Oman’s support of EduTraC Oman reiterates our commitment to identify, support and develop local talent and create employment opportunities for Oman’s youth in line with His Majesty the Sultan’s vision. The bank is proud to be making a positive and sustainable impact in the local community through social initiatives that underline the true spirit of corporate social responsibility. Helping young people to fulfil their potential is an important mission for the bank and a responsibility we take very seriously.”
A team from the bank was on-site to meet with visitors. In particular, members of the Tijarati SME banking team were available to help aspiring entrepreneurs by explaining the range of finance and guidance the bank can provide. Furthermore, a direct sales team from our Retail Banking Division has also been present in the fair to meet the visitors and showcase retail banking products and services.
In June 2015, National Bank of Oman announced it will give away 15 scholarships to underprivileged students from across the sultanate to study at some of the world’s best universities.
Additionally, it will create 25 new graduate employment roles within various divisions of the bank and give five existing employees the opportunity to study for an MBA at a top international business school.
