The National Youth Committee (NYC) on Sunday held its second regular meeting under the leadership of its chairman Dr Hamad bin Hamoud al Ghaferi. The meeting is being held following the adoption of by-laws of the committee and elected office bearers who include, besides the chairman, a deputy chairman and three noncommittee members.
They are Dr Nasser bin Rashid al Mawali, Musalim bin Said Tabook and Khawlah bint Hamud al Harthiyah. Four sub-committees were formed with four to five members each, and elected their heads and deputy heads. Dr Nasser bin Ali al Jahouri was elected head of the studies and research sub-committee with Muna bint Mohammed al Fana as his deputy.
Salim bin Said al Mefdhali was elected head of the activities and programmes sub-committee and Sayyid Kamel bin Hamoud al Busaidi was named his deputy. Sayyid Nasr bin Badr al Busaidi was elected head of the communication and public relations sub-committee and Yousef bin Abdullah al Nadabi his deputy.
Sulaiem bin Ali al Hakmani was elected head of the youth initiatives sub-committee. Saud bin Ahmed al Siyabi was named his deputy. A number of action plans of the committee have been initiated and will continue along with activities of the sub-committees.
