The organising committee of Muscat Festival 2012 has decided to extend the festival, initially scheduled to end this Thursday, by a week due to popular demand.
“A poll that viewers of the popular daily television programme Huna Oman participated in favoured the extension, and the organising committee decided to extend the festival till March 1,” a Muscat Municipality official told Muscat Daily.
“The festival activities will continue at both Qurum Natural Park and Naseem Garden, both of which have been witnessing huge crowds. The decision will help those who have not got a chance to visit the festival so far.”
Seeb resident Abu Hamza welcomed the decision. “I am happy because I have not been to the festival so far. I was waiting for the last few days because I thought it would be less crowded. Now I will have enough time to plan a visit to Qurum and Naseem parks.”
