Several competitions are also being held as part of the symposium, which focuses on inculcating a sense of responsibility among the youth, aspiring them to ideate and developing their personalities keeping with Omani values.
According to a press release, many colleges including Sultan Qaboos University have been invited to take part in the symposium. Dr Abdulla bin Ali al Shibli, the director general of Colleges of Applied Sciences and deputy chairman of the organising committee, emphasised on the importance of interaction among students during the competitions.
Budor bin Abdulla al Riyami, head of the competitions committee, said, “Team work is the main feature of the competitions. It will encourage the students to utilise their capabilities and technology innovatively.”
An essay writing competition will be held in which contestants will have to write a report on the theme of the symposium. The students will also be invited to take part in a pencil sketching and graphic designing competition.
A competition titled ‘Challenge’ will be organised where students will create an educational project related to road safety, environment conservation, volunteerism or social service, the release added.
