KIMS Oman appoints senior surgery consultant

To strengthen its surgery department, KIMS Oman Hospital on Saturday announced that Dr R V Nair has joined it as a senior consultant for general and laparoscopic surgery. Dr Nair has over 40 years of experience and is considered one of the most senior consultants in general and laparoscopic surgery.
He was a senior consultant surgeon at KIMS, Kerala, India for more than 12 years and has had extensive training in gastrointestinal endoscopy, laparoscopic surgery, mass casualty management, blood transfusion and stapled haemorrhoidopexy.
Addressing a media conference on Sunday, V M A Hakkim, executive director at KIMS Oman Hospital, said, “Many Omanis go to India for treatment, so why not bring experts to their doorstep?” He added that this will be economical for those who cannot afford to go abroad for treatment
