Rains lashed several parts of the country on Monday, leading to a dip in the mercury. In Muscat governorate, rain led to waterlogging and caused traffic congestion in many parts of the city.
Moderate rain fell in Seeb, Bausher, Muttrah and Muscat, as well as in Shinas, Sohar, Saham, Suwaiq, Rustaq and Musannah. The rain also caused overflowing of wadis in several areas.
Partly cloudy skies are expected to prevail over Muscat, Musandam, Batinah north, south Dhahirah, Buraimi, Dakhliyah, Sharqiyah north and south, and the Hajar mountains. A DGMAN official said there are chances of isolated thunder showers in several parts of the country. “The sea will also remain rough along the Musandam coast.”
He called upon residents to exercise caution and avoid wadis during the rain.
ROP has also urged people to exercise caution while driving in rainy weather and use the wipers often.
