HSBC Oman employees complete cultural orientation programme

Muscat -

Following the successful merger of Oman International Bank (OIB) and HSBC’s Oman operations, around 1,035 HSBC Bank Oman employees completed a systematic internal cultural orientation programme, which was designed to facilitate a smooth transition into the newly-formed entity, HSBC Bank Oman.

The one-day programme was rolled out over a number of sessions to include all staff from across various regions of the sultanate.

“The orientation programme played a critical role in acclimatising new colleagues to their new roles and work environment,” said Ali al Abri, head of human resources at HSBC Bank Oman.

“We want all members of our growing family to be galvanised for the great opportunities that lie ahead for themselves and for our customers, which can only be achieved by sharing a unified vision.”

Staff were familiarised with HSBC’s rich history and culture of being open, dependable and connected while honouring the undisputed achievements and legacy of OIB.

The sessions also served as an open forum for staff to raise any questions or concerns and share their thoughts and feedback.

As the integration process continues apace, employees will benefit from a full suite of learning and development programmes.
