German aircraft makes emergency landing at Muscat airport

Muscat -

A German private aircraft (MHV640) which was on its way from the Maldives to Abu Dhabi made an emergency landing at Muscat International Airport on Saturday afternoon.

The Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) tweeted saying that the German jet, carrying nine passengers, suffered a mechanical malfunction in its left engine while passing through Oman’s airspace. “The Muscat Air Traffic Control received a request for landing from the pilot at 2.10pm due to injured passengers and was given permission to land.”

PACA coordinated with concerned authorities to provide the facilities for the flight’s safe landing. “The flight landed at around 3.14pm and was dealt with as an emergency situation. All passengers were shifted to the nearest hospital,” PACA stated.

The aircraft will undergo mandatory security checks before it is allowed to take-off.
