At the opening ceremony, Dr Rahma al Mahrooqi, deputy vice chancellor for Postgraduate Studies and Research delivered her speech. Dr Rahma pointed out the importance of research in the development of all aspects of life. She also gave an overview of all the 17 projects funded by His Majesty’s Trust Fund for Strategic Research in the last three years.
The forum also discussed 14 projects and research funded by His Majesty’s Trust Fund. The event highlighted some strategic projects funded by the Royal Grant and their key results. At the forum, Dr Yahya al Farsi discussed his research work ‘Autism in Oman: Epidemiology and Etiology’. He focused on autism in Oman and its awareness.
Dr Fahad al Zadjali’s work on the project ‘New Therapeutic Approaches for Inflammatory-Associated Human Disorders’ studied the benefits of three main solutions: Hormonal approach via increasing growth hormone sensitivity; Use of Gum Arabia and Protein hydrolysates of algae.
