“All funds raised will go towards Street Child, a UK-based charity organisation that helps street children in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nepal. The organisation provides street children with access back into the national education system, traces family ties of orphaned children in the hope of re-uniting them with family members, or link street orphans to foster families,” said Dané. The event has been approved by the Ministry of Social Development and the funds will be channelled to Street Child via the Oman Charitable Organization.
“This project hopes to raise a minimum of £1,000 (approximately RO500). Of course, the more we can raise, the more assistance can be provided to community groups in need. Her live projection painting is a unique art form where she literally paints a film to life. Estabrak has been recognised for her unique and critically acclaimed art worldwide.
“On March 16, the ABADA Oman Capoeira group will be doing a live performance. As a martial art disguised in dance, Capoeira challenges the body. The recent capoeira championships held in Oman has really gathered a great deal of support for the ABADA team here.” Tickets to the event cost RO3 for adults and RO1 for children.
