Court slaps RO10,000 fine on shop selling expired goods

The Primary Court in the wilayat of Saham in the Governorate of North Batinah has slapped a fine of RO10,000 on a shopkeeper for selling expired products. The court also ordered destruction of the 835 expired products seized from the shop.

The case came to light during a regular inspection campaign carried out by officials of the Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP). Officials found several expired make-up products, soaps and cosmetics. The accused was charged for violating Article 40 of the Consumer Protection Law.
