The two-day conference aims to create awareness, share good practices by bringing together policymakers, Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and other interested stakeholders to share their experiences and ideas, stated a press release.
OQNHE is a collegiate network of HEIs in Oman. It aims at improving the quality of higher education in Oman by promoting quality assurance and enhancement practices.
This event is being organised under the patronage of H E Sheikh Khalid bin Omar bin Said al Marhoon, Minister of Civil Service.
OQNHE supports and acknowledges the importance of quantifiable statistical data and progressive approach to higher education, which will be the two major themes of the conference.
The conference is designed to cater to the needs of professionals related to the field of higher education in Oman and the region.
Discussions will focus on areas of quality management and enhancement in higher education encompassing tools for quality management, performance management, change management, role of staff engagement, strategic partnerships, governance and accountability.
Technology enhanced learning, assessment through quality learning and quality enhancement through students’ involvement will also be dwelt upon.
The conference will also have two keynote addresses by senior experts in the field of higher education from the sultanate as well as from the region.
Participants will be policy makers in higher education, representatives from the government, industry and HEIs with responsibility for quality assurance and quality enhancement.
