The conference is being organised by the Directorate General for Department of Communicable Disease Surveillance and Control in the Ministry of Health (MoH).
Some 13 local and international speakers from Italy and Canada, are presenting papers during the event. More than 200 participants from all directorates are attending it.
The conference aims at updating the participants on the diagnosis, treatment, prevention and infection control of tuberculosis, as well as the TB/HIV collaborative activity.
The agenda discusses the World Health Organization’s TB elimination strategic plan, as well as the management guidelines for Multidrug-Resistant Tuberculosis (MDRTB) in adults and children. The conference addresses the role of Bedaquiline in the management of MDRTB.
