407 workers found violating Labour Law

The weekly report of the Ministry of Manpower's (MoM) joint inspection team has said that 407 workers were found violating the Labour Law between April 13 and 19.

These included 327 commercial workers, 32 farm workers and 48 housemaids and their equivalents.

The statistics showed that 384 workers were caught, who included 191 absconding workers, 167 stray workers and 26 without valid documents.

Muscat governorate saw the highest number of Labour Law violators at 257, followed by the North and South Batinah with 55 workers each.

MoM statistics also showed that 354 expatriate workers were deported during the period.
