Cardiff, Sheffield and Cambridge universities are popular among Omani students seeking higher education in the UK, according to Zeyana Ali Seif, marketing and special projects manager at Al Ahlam Higher Education Services.
The company is organising the second UK Education Exhibition, along with the British Council, on December 5 and 6.
“A majority of Omani students consulting us aspire to join Cardiff, Sheffield or Cambridge universities in the UK,” she said. The education exhibition, to be held at City Seasons Hotel in Al Khuwayr, will allow students to interact with representatives from 35 UK universities
“Any information regarding courses, tuition fees or training programmes can be obtained at the education fair,” Zeyana said. Al Ahlam has invited students to the event through several online social forums.
Fourteen universities and around 100 students attended the first UK Education Exhibition in 2011. “This time, we coordinated with the British Council, who called upon and opened the registration for universities willing to participate in the exhibition,” Zeyana said.
“Once the student gets an acceptance letter from a university, we help them with the admission process, visas and even accommodation, by coordinating with the concerned departments,” she added.
The event will be open from 4pm to 9pm on December 5. Timings for December 6 are 10am to 1pm and 4pm to 9pm.
