UK's Hewlett launches operations in Oman

Muscat -

UK-based Hewlett Construction Co has launched its operations in Oman. The company, with 25 years of experience in construction, would mainly focus on sectors like power, defence and oil and gas in the sultanate.

Speaking to Muscat Daily on the sidelines of the launch event  at the British Embassy on Monday, Alan Cooper, managing director of Hewlett Construction, said that the company is trying to introduce leading technology, flexibility and expertise in the country for ease of conducting business.

He said, “We are a medium-sized company and Oman is the first stop in our Middle East journey. From the work perspective, we have long-term plans for the company here since the country has a steady government and a strong economy. We are also aware of the rail schemes coming up in Oman and in the near term we will also focus on them.”

Formed in 1987, Hewlett is one of the largest privately owned, multi-disciplined civil engineering companies in the UK. The company operates throughout Britain from three regional offices with a workforce of over 400.
