Bataineh shared his experience in the field of finance and how technology is revolutionising the financial sector of Oman as well as the GCC. Other panelists gracing the event included, H E Tahir bin Salim al Amri, executive president of the Central Bank of Oman, Dr Yahya al Wahaibi, dean of research at SQU and Ramez Dandan from Microsoft Gulf, to name a few.
Bataineh heads U-Capital, the prominent investment company in Oman. With assets under management and custody of over US$1.2bn, U-Capital is ranked amongst the top asset managers in Oman. Its corporate finance department has raised over US$6.6bn via IPOs, rights issues, private placements, collecting bank services and mergers and acquisitions.
The company’s brokerage unit was ranked number one in terms of market share as of 2017.
