Renna Mobile announces new voice, data offers

Renna Mobile, the second largest mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) in the sultanate, has announced new offers for customers.

The mobile reseller announced that its customers can now call each other at 9bz per minute without any subscription fee or hidden charges. This new promotional offer, which is valid all day long, will expire at the end of March 2013. The company also announced two offers in the form of 'Renna Friends' and 'Favourite Numbers.'

Addressing a press conference, chief executive officer Joakim Klingefjord said, The new permanent price plan, Renna Friends, allows Renna customers to call each other round the clock, all year long, for just 19bz/minute. This, coupled with the new Favourite Numbers service, which allows any Renna customer to call a selection of other customers in Oman, whether fixed or mobile, for the amazing price of 25bz/minute, provides value never seen in the sultanate before.

The company also announced new data-bundle offers. Renna Mobile customers subscribing to one of its three data bundles will be able to enjoy free data from 11pm to 6am every day until the end of March 2013.

We promised to delight both new and existing customers, and I am confident we have achieved this with the launch of our amazing new range of voice and data offers, Klingefjord added.

Recently, Oman Brunei Investment Company (OBIC), a 50:50 joint venture between the governments of Oman and Brunei, bought a majority stake in Renna Mobile by injecting a 'significant' capital to help the mobile reseller expand its operations in the sultanate and regional markets.

Klingefjord said that the company, which currently holds nearly a 3.5 per cent market share in the sultanate, is making good progress on its expansion plans in Oman and the region.

We are negotiating contracts in a few markets. I am quite optimistic that we will announce expansion and changes in the organisation very soon. With new offers and expansion plans we would grow significantly in terms of operations in the Oman market. I am confident our customer base will grow rapidly, Klingefjord told Muscat Daily.

Renna Mobile also presented a new interactive 'USSD Self Service Menu,' which allows customers to subscribe to services, access account details and get help and information with ease.
