Oman Electricity Transmission Co (OETC) has floated two tenders inviting bids for the construction of three grid stations and installation of associated transmission lines in Muscat Governorate.
Tender No 143/2012 is for the construction of 132/33kV grid stations in Amerat and Mabellah areas and installation of the required 132kV overhead line and cables, according to an announcement on the Tender Board website.
The company has also floated a separate tender Ð No 142/2012 - for the construction of a new 132kV grid station at Rusayl and associated 132kV feeder works. OETC is building new grid stations to cater to the high load growth in these areas,
Both tenders specified that the companies specialised in electrical works and registered with the Tender Board and OETC can submit their bids for the contract.
The documents for both tenders will be distributed until January 16, 2013 with the last date of the submitting bids on February 11.
Last week, the Tender Board also announced the award of OETC's RO42.9mn contract for the construction of overhead 400kV and 220kV transmission lines from the Sur Independent Power Plant (IPP) to the Izki transformer plant.
Around ten local and foreign companies participated in the tendering process.
Among the bidders for the contract were Bahwan Engineering Co (BEC), GAM & Partners LLC, Saudi National Contracting Co, Larsen & Toubro (Oman) LLC, Powertech Engineering LLC, Oman National Engineering and Investment Co (ONEIC), Civil Contracting Co, Eastern Overseas LLC, Ozdil Energy Resources and Al Jood Trading and Contracting Co.
