Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) and The Prospect Group have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote Omani businesses globally.
The MoU was signed by Khalil al Khonji, chairman of OCCI, and Monika Ostrowski, director of The Prospect Group, at the OCCI headquarters on Tuesday.
The Prospect Group is a Hong-Kong based leading global firm specialising in media, research, and consulting.
The MoU includes an agreement that will allow OCCI to supply The Prospect Group with the facts and figures of Oman's commerce and industry sectors in order to promote them internationally. The group would customise a video player for OCCI to showcase video interviews with Omani leaders.
Speaking to Muscat Daily, Khonji said, We are trying our best to promote Oman and this is one of the initiatives to try and add another element to promote Omani businesses and attract investments into the sultanate. Our members should feel that we are doing to the best to promote Oman.
We will start by conducting interviews with prominent business leaders in Oman which will be put on the OCCI website, The Prospect Group website and other popular media and social-media websites. This will help propagate our strengths through various channels, Khonji added.
The Prospect Group will also share trade- and industry-related videos with OCCI for the promotion of events in Oman.
This initiative is going to help promote Omani business leaders internationally and spur investments. The business interviews will be available on the OCCI website and all other important websites so that people can easily access them and be informed about happenings in the sultanate, Monika added.
