While a total of 48 stocks were traded, the market was negative with 17 advancing stocks to 19 decliners. Market volume fell 70.49 per cent to 18.25mn securities traded from 61.85mn in the previous session. Market capitalisation, however, improved marginally to RO12.066bn from RO12.065bn. Among the top gainers were Oman Orix Leasing (+3.45 per cent at 150bz), Transgulf Ind Inv Holding (+2.86 per cent at 108bz), Oman United Insurance (+2.33 per cent at 220bz), SMN Power Holding (+1.50 per cent at RO4.6) and Oman Investment and Finance (+1.21 per cent at 251bz). Among the top losers were Renaissance Services (-4.00 per cent at 480bz), Al Hassan Engineering (-3.61 per cent at 160bz), Global Financial Investment (-1.91 per cent at 103bz), Al Batinah Dev Inv Holding (-1.79 per cent at 55bz) and Financial Services (-1.49 per cent at 66bz).
MSM slips on lower trading activity
The general index of the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) edged down 0.03 per cent to close at 5,896.60 on Sunday The value of traded securities slumped 66.98 per cent to RO4.6mn as compared to RO14mn at the closing of the previous session.
