HSBC Bank Oman has announced two important appointments in its retail-banking proposition, HSBC Premier.
The bank has appointed Richard David Barker as head of premier banking and wealth management, while Mohammed Said Mohammed al Habsi will take up the role of wealth premier relationship manager.
The appointments are in line with the bank’s retail banking and wealth management strategy of providing best-in-class retail banking solutions and wealth management advisory to meet customers’ needs and aspirations, a press release said.
Commenting on the hires, Alan Jarman, head of retail banking and wealth management at HSBC Bank Oman, said, “HSBC Premier is recognised globally as an exceptional banking service with unrivalled worldwide privileges, global connectivity, preferential rates and exclusive benefits. The knowledge and experience that Richard and Mohammed bring in customer relationship management and wealth advisory will be instrumental in further strengthening the customer offering in HSBC Premier.”

Barker has worked with HSBC in Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom, and brings to HSBC Bank Oman extensive retail banking and wealth management expertise. Habsi is a seasoned Omani banker who joins HSBC Bank Oman after representing Ithmaar Bank of Bahrain in the sultanate for more than three years.
