Global logistics company DHL said it has won the tender to import materials for Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Co (ORPIC).
Created from the integration of three companies - Oman Refineries and Petrochemicals Co LLC (ORPC), Aromatics Oman LLC (AOL) and Oman Polypropylene (OPP), ORPIC is one of Oman's largest companies and one of the rapidly growing businesses in the Middle East's oil industry.
According to DHL country manager Turgay Sarikaya, “ORPIC is a very strong client and this win is due to its belief in DHL’s reach and network capabilities and its ability to deliver on time every time due to the reach of its network and customs-clearance services. It also goes to credit the incredible efforts put in by the DHL team in Oman.
“These three companies will now be supported by a cross-functional team that will enable a seamless operation and guarantee customer satisfaction,” Sarikaya added.
Ibrahim al Farsi, acting procurement manager at ORPIC, said, “Finding a reliable service partner for our business is very important. We are pleased to work with a global brand such as DHL and are confident of their ability to deliver and of their strength as a global network with a vast local presence in Oman.”
ORPIC's refineries in Sohar and Muscat, as well as AOL and OPP plants in the Sohar complex, provide fuels, chemicals and feedstock to local and international markets through a team of more than 1,600 employees – mostly Omanis, a release said.
