Ahlibank's Al Hilal Islamic Banking Services has become one of the first Islamic bank’s in Oman to introduce a chip-based debit card for its customers.
The new Sharia-compliant debit card can be used worldwide for withdrawing cash as well as at merchant outlets Based on international banking standards, the Al Hilal debit card is tailored to meet the need of Islamic banking customers and has been developed in strict accordance with the values of the Islamic faith, a press release said.
According to Abdullah al Jabri, DGM and head of Al Hilal Islamic Banking: “Al Hilal Islamic Banking Services is the first Islamic banking window in Oman to go live with the debit card with full service and transactional facilities for our esteemed customers. The Al Hilal debit card can be used by customers for their transactions/ cash withdrawals on Omannet, GCC net and the Visa networks. Our customers can use any ATM machine in the sultanate without any charge or fees.”
Jabri added, “This milestone is in line with the constant endeavour of Al Hilal to ensure that their customers get the best services available.”
